I spent a few hours today working on my Bug and I'm close to geting the head taken off. I've got everything removed from cylinders three and four, except the head itself and the cylinder shroud that covers them.

Kinja'd!!!

Here's a crappy iPotato 5 picture of the shroud for you to take a look. Does anybody know exactly how to remove the shroud? I took all the screws that hold it in place out and I just cant figure out how to wiggle it free. Its frustrating the hell out of me so I gave up on working on it for the day. In case anyone needs to know, it's the a dual port intake shroud that covers cylinders three and four. Thanks in advance for any help!

Drop the whole motor and transaxle. It will save you tons of aggravation in the long run.

I'm strongly considering doing that, but I don't want to deal with the hassle haha. I know its possible to pull the shroud and head without taking the whole engine out, but it is a little more complicated at times. The only thing stopping me from getting the head out is the shroud at this point which is extremely frustrating.
